About Jeep Elite
France’s LNB, Ligue Nationale de Basket, is made of 18 teams in the first division, known as Jeep®Elite, with 34 regular season games followed by playoffs.
Once a league with competitive teams in the Euroleague, the French league has taken a backseat to its European counterparts since the early 2000. Once dominated by powerhouses like ASVEL (19 championships), Limoges (11 championships) and Pau-Orthez (9 titles), the Jeep®Elite has known 11 different champions in 15 years.
Although instability at the top is a trademark, France is also synonymous with professionalism and stability in the front offices while being a formidable springboard for prospects. With a style of play based on athleticism and speed the no other European country has produced as many NBA players as France. These youngsters have followed in Tony Parker’s footsteps, spending a couple of years on their home-soil before taking their talent to the US.
Parker indeed, has returned to its roots, becoming the President of ASVEL and leading the team back to the top, winning two championships in four seasons while bringing the club back to the Euroleague.
